C++ Software Engineer – Fintech (Remote, Permanent)

About the role

Our client, a leading fintech organisation, is looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team based in Ireland. You will work on high‑scale transaction systems, building and maintaining backend services that power critical financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend applications using C++ and related technologies.
• Build and maintain scalable APIs and distributed systems handling high transaction volumes.
• Ensure stability, performance, and reliability of production systems in Linux environments.
• Collaborate with product, operations, and support teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform performance issues.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration pipelines.
• Contribute to automation and technical improvements across the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience with strong C++ development.
• Hands‑on experience building backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Proficiency working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Ability to work independently within a fully remote team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
