C++ Software Engineer – Fintech (Remote, Permanent)

About the role

Our client, a leading fintech organisation, is looking for an experienced C++ Software Engineer to join their remote engineering team in Ireland. The role focuses on building and maintaining high‑performance backend systems that process large volumes of financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications using C++ and related technologies.
• Design and implement scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Ensure stability, performance and reliability of production systems handling high transaction volumes.
• Collaborate with product, operations and support teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve platform performance and client service issues.
• Participate in testing, code reviews and continuous integration activities.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain applications in Linux‑based environments.
• Drive technical improvements and automation across the software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of professional software engineering experience with strong C++ development skills.
• Proven experience building backend systems and RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Ability to work independently within a fully remote team.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in agile or fast‑paced technology settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
