Chief Pharmacist (Grade I) – National Ambulance Service

About the role

The National Ambulance Service (NAS) is seeking a qualified Pharmacist at Chief I grade to join its Clinical Directorate in Limerick. This permanent, whole‑time position supports the Clinical Director and contributes to the delivery of pharmacy services across the ambulance service.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and actively participate in HSEA panel meetings and other multidisciplinary forums.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Director to define on‑site attendance requirements in line with the HSE’s Blended Working Policy.
• Provide expert pharmacy advice and clinical support to NAS operations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of pharmacy policies and procedures for the service.
• Support recruitment and staffing processes for current and future pharmacy vacancies within NAS.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist qualified to practice in Ireland.
• Grade Chief I (or equivalent senior pharmacy grade).
• Eligibility to work for both HSE and non‑HSE applicants.
• Willingness to engage in on‑site work at Dooradoyle House, Limerick, with flexibility for blended working arrangements.
