Clerk of Works – Construction Assurance Specialist

About the role

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to join a major infrastructure project in Dublin. You will provide on‑site construction assurance, ensuring that all civil works meet contract requirements, specifications and Irish regulations while supporting the Engineering Assurance sub‑function.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the NEC4 Project Supervisor in overseeing construction assurance activities across earthworks, drainage, bridges and structures.
• Inspect and monitor workmanship, quality and health & safety compliance on a daily basis.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of the Clerk of Works team and act as the primary liaison between site crews, project leadership and stakeholders.
• Contribute to financial, resource and programme planning and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 5+ years of construction management or supervision experience on large‑scale road or infrastructure schemes.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural works, Irish Building Regulations and health & safety standards.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and Safepass accreditation (desirable).

Required skills

• Construction supervision and quality assurance.
• Interpretation of civil engineering drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with NEC4 project supervision processes.
• Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and health & safety legislation.
