Clinical Apps Support Specialist

About the role

The Clinical Apps Support Specialist will provide day‑to‑day support, maintenance and continuous improvement of clinical applications for Affidea’s Ireland and UK cluster. The role covers systems such as the Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Theatre Management Systems (TMS). You will act as the primary point of contact for end‑users, manage incidents and service requests, and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for all clinical applications across the organisation.
• Log, categorise, prioritise and resolve incidents and service requests following SOPs and ITSM processes.
• Perform technical triage, troubleshooting and escalation when required.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordinate timely issue escalation.
• Support imaging transfer applications between Affidea and external providers.
• Maintain user guides, training material and a knowledge base.
• Participate in a rotational extended‑hours support schedule.
• Carry out application administration tasks, including user account provisioning and de‑provisioning.

• Hands‑on technical expertise with clinical applications.
• Ability to take full ownership of incidents and keep stakeholders informed.
• Willingness to work on a rotational extended‑hours support roster.

Required skills

• Experience with Radiology Information System (RIS).
