Clinical Call Centre Nurse (Full Time)

About the role

The Clinical Call Centre Nurse provides direct, telephone‑based care to Vhi members, assessing health needs, triaging calls, and guiding patients to appropriate services while maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct phone triage using standardised protocols and clinical decision support software.
• Evaluate and prioritise patients, offering advice, treatment, or referral to suitable facilities.
• Document each encounter in the electronic health record (EHR) and follow up as required.
• Act as the first clinical point of contact for day‑to‑day call centre operations.
• Support non‑clinical colleagues and collaborate within the Clinical Call Centre team.
• Maintain nursing competencies through rotations across Vhi nursing departments.
• Advocate for patients by communicating their needs to appropriate resources.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualified to practise in Ireland.
• Ability to work a flexible 24/7 schedule, including shift work.
• Strong independent clinical decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and patient‑centred care approach.
