Cloud Engineer – SysAdmin

About the role

Join Cisco's Cloud and Data Center Engineering team as a Cloud Engineer – SysAdmin. You will design, deploy, and manage compute and storage solutions across cloud and data‑centre environments, ensuring they meet Cisco's security standards and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement compute and storage architectures, including NAS/SAN, LUN creation, host mapping, multipathing, and data replication.
• Automate server provisioning, lifecycle management, and performance optimization.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware and OpenStack, handling live and cold VM migrations.
• Plan and execute migration projects for data‑centre relocation or consolidation.
• Write and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure‑as‑code solutions to streamline operations.
• Build monitoring and alerting systems for compute, storage, and data‑centre health, and proactively address performance issues.
• Collaborate with network, security, application, and data‑centre teams while following ITIL‑based request, change, and incident processes.
• Produce clear documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field with at least 3 years of systems administration or infrastructure operations experience, OR a Master's degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and maintaining compute and storage solutions in cloud or data‑centre environments.
