Commercial Counsel – Financial Services (Dublin)

About the role
Our client, a globally recognised financial institution, is expanding its in‑house legal team in Dublin. The Commercial Counsel will operate within a regulated financial services environment, providing pragmatic, commercially‑focused advice across contracts, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including trading, data and technology contracts.
- Advise on corporate law matters such as board governance, corporate structuring and intra‑group arrangements.
- Support business and regulatory projects by creating and implementing legal and regulatory policies.
- Identify and assess legal risks linked to new initiatives, transactions and market activity.
- Collaborate with the compliance function to ensure regulatory obligations are met and support regulator engagement.
Required profile
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 7 years post‑qualification experience.
- In‑house experience within a financial services organisation.
- Strong commercial law background with hands‑on contract drafting and negotiation.
- Solid understanding of corporate governance principles and financial‑services regulatory frameworks.
- Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice to senior stakeholders.
