Construction Manager – Mechanical

About the role

The Construction Manager (Mechanical) reports to the Project Director and leads a team of engineers to deliver mechanical construction projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves developing execution plans, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day health and safety matters and enforce company safety procedures.
• Plan and supervise all work phases from initiation to closure, including material handling and subcontract packages.
• Lead the site supervision team, coordinating engineers and craft supervisors.
• Develop constructability reports and schedules with schedulers, engineers, and foremen.
• Define subcontractor scopes, tender work, and control cost, schedule, quality, and safety.
• Coordinate prefabrication planning with workshops, prioritising tests and documentation.
• Produce weekly/monthly progress reports for clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors on cost management, variations, and negotiations.
• Attend internal and client meetings to drive successful outcomes.
• Inspect works for safety, technical compliance, and design adherence.
• Work with QA/QC resources to ensure standards and client specifications are met.
• Oversee assembly of hand‑over packages and any additional tasks assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience as a Construction Manager or Project Engineer.
• Background in mechanical construction for pharmaceutical, biotech, semiconductor, or oil & gas sectors.
• Hands‑on experience with equipment installation, piping fabrication, piping installation, and pressure testing on site.
• Relevant degree preferred.
