About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Physician specialized in Geriatric Medicine to join a hospital in Ireland on a 12‑month, salary‑based contract. The role involves delivering high‑quality care to older patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of geriatric services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of geriatric patients.
• Lead and mentor junior medical staff within the geriatric department.
• Work closely with nursing, allied health, and social care professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in audit, research, and continuous improvement initiatives related to elderly care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Full active IMC Specialist Registration.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Internal Medicine with a special interest in Geriatric Medicine.
• Well‑developed interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Proven capacity to work effectively within a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
• Strong commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care.
