Consultant – Respiratory Integrated Care

About the role

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Consultant in Respiratory Integrated Care to join the multidisciplinary team at University Hospital Limerick. This permanent, whole‑time position will focus on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred respiratory services across the Mid West health region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist respiratory clinical care and leadership within the integrated care pathway.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including primary care, nursing, physiotherapy and allied health professionals.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based protocols and guidelines for respiratory conditions.
• Participate in teaching, mentorship and continuous professional development activities.
• Contribute to service planning, quality improvement and audit initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical qualification with registration as a specialist in the relevant specialty on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Ireland.
• Demonstrated experience in respiratory medicine and integrated care models.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
