Control Room Operator

About the role

Join the Motorway Operations Control Centre (MOCC) and monitor a 1,200 km network of motorways, tunnels and national roads on behalf of Transport Infrastructure Ireland. You will be part of a dedicated team that ensures the highest safety standards for road users, receiving full training on all safety response and traffic‑management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Swiftly react to incidents, accidents and emergencies on the national motorway network and Dublin Tunnel.
• Monitor traffic flow using the control‑room’s wall‑mounted TV displays and traffic‑management system.
• Coordinate with emergency services, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure prompt response.
• Provide clear instructions to drivers via variable message signs and social media.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and prepare detailed reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of customer‑service or call‑centre experience.
• Strong attention to detail and motivation.
• Excellent communication skills for delivering instructions and updates.
• Ability to work a 4‑on‑4‑off shift pattern, 24/7.
• Experience in a control‑room or traffic‑management environment is a plus.
