Customer Service Assistant – Retail Betting Shop

About the role

You will deliver an outstanding customer experience in a fast‑paced betting shop, supporting the Shop Manager and team with daily operations. The role combines front‑of‑house service, cash handling and occasional shop management duties.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager with day‑to‑day shop operations.
• Open and close the shop, manage the team and oversee cash management procedures when senior staff are absent.
• Accept and process customer bets accurately via betting terminals and the EPOS system.
• Act as a Brand Ambassador, guiding customers through multi‑channel and digital betting journeys.
• Maintain high shop presentation standards and ensure compliance with safety and social responsibility policies.
• Identify opportunities for personal and shop improvement while working under pressure.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with strong integrity and trustworthiness.
• Flexible to work a 7‑day schedule and adaptable to a retail environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and cash‑handling abilities.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to build rapport with sports‑focused customers.
• Ambitious, results‑driven and eager to progress within the company.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EPOS systems.
• Experience using betting terminals.
