Data Center Technician – 6‑Month Fixed‑Term in Dublin

About the role

We are looking for a Data Center Technician to join a leading technology client’s operations team in Dublin on a 6‑month fixed‑term basis. The role involves hands‑on support of server, storage and networking hardware, ensuring the reliability and performance of critical data‑center infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot server, storage and networking equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and infrastructure issues within the data‑center.
• Perform system health checks, preventative maintenance and support structured cabling (copper and fiber‑optic).
• Maintain accurate documentation, asset management records and inventory control.
• Act as the first escalation point for junior technicians and provide technical guidance.
• Support remote system administration tasks and automate routine operations through scripting.
• Execute small technical projects independently and contribute to larger local initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with data‑center safety, security and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience supporting server, storage and networking hardware in a data‑center or similar environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities for complex technical issues.
• Understanding of data‑center infrastructure, including power, cooling and rack systems.
• Experience with structured cabling, patch panels and fiber‑optic connections.
• Basic to intermediate Linux and/or Windows system administration skills.
• Ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
