Data Engineer – Dublin

About the role

AIB is looking for a Data Engineer to join its Data Engineering and Architecture team within the Centre of Excellence for Data and Analytics. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support business stakeholders across a complex banking IT landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
• Implement data‑quality monitoring processes to ensure accurate production data.
• Follow application design standards and model‑deployment frameworks.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models for BI tools.
• Ensure robust, supportable data deployments that meet defined quality standards.
• Execute designs provided by senior data‑engineering members and drive solutions from discovery to implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or information‑management discipline (e.g., Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics).
• Experience with the software development lifecycle and IT change management, preferably within banking or risk environments.
• Knowledge of data‑integration technologies; experience with AbInitio is a plus.
• Strong data‑management, analytical and reporting capabilities.
• Familiarity with enterprise batch scheduling.
