Data Engineer – Python ETL & API Integration

About the role

Our Dublin‑based client is looking for a Data Engineer to own and evolve Python‑based ETL pipelines and data workflows. You will work in a fast‑paced environment, integrating internal and external systems through REST APIs and supporting automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve Python ETL scripts and data pipelines.
• Monitor jobs, handle failures, rerun processes and ensure data consistency.
• Integrate systems using REST APIs and move data reliably between them.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and document solutions for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Identify automation opportunities with Power Automate, Power Apps and N8N.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on Python development experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Solid understanding of REST API integration in production.
• Experience handling errors, rerunning processes and ensuring stable pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) or data warehouses such as Snowflake.
• Comfortable working with existing or legacy codebases and version control (GitHub).
