Data Engineer – Python ETL & API Integration

About the role

Our Dublin‑based client is seeking a Data Engineer to own and evolve Python‑driven ETL pipelines within a fast‑moving data platform. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable data movement and support automation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve Python‑based ETL pipelines and data workflows.
• Develop Python scripts for data ingestion, transformation, and automation.
• Monitor pipeline health, handle failures, rerun processes and guarantee data consistency.
• Integrate systems via REST APIs and ensure reliable data transfer.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues, identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Document processes for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Identify automation opportunities using Power Automate, Power Apps, and N8N.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver practical solutions.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on Python development experience.
• Proven experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
• Solid understanding of REST API integration in production.
• Familiarity with error handling, process reruns and data consistency checks.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
