Depot Manager – Waste Facility

About the role
The company is a growing Irish waste management and recycling business seeking a hands‑on Depot Manager to lead operations at a busy processing site in Dublin 12. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day site performance, staff leadership, compliance and logistics in a fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage operational teams including plant operatives, machine drivers and weighbridge staff.
- Coordinate staff rostering, performance management and daily supervision.
- Oversee weighbridge operations and night‑shift coordination.
- Work closely with maintenance teams to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers on maintenance schedules, service level agreements and upgrades.
- Drive operational efficiencies and identify cost‑saving initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with EPA licensing requirements and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of waste classification, storage and material movement.
- Support EHS initiatives, inspections and site safety procedures.
- Manage yard operations, traffic flow, stock control and site standards.
- Coordinate logistics and material movement across the site and to external outlets.
Required profile
- Proven experience in waste management, depot operations, recycling or a similar industrial environment.
- Strong hands‑on leadership style with the ability to manage operational teams.
- Good understanding of EPA regulations and health & safety compliance.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced operational setting.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
- Knowledge of plant operations and material handling processes.
