Design Engineer – In‑Building Cellular Coverage (DAS)

About the role

Sigma Wireless Communications is looking for a Design Engineer specialized in in‑building cellular systems (4G/5G). You will work closely with clients and the sales team to propose, design and deliver robust wireless communication solutions that meet specific coverage, reliability and capacity requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyse customer requirements, provide expert advice and support sales negotiations.
• Conduct comprehensive site surveys to collect signal levels, RF propagation data and installation constraints.
• Design and optimise radio coverage solutions for cellular networks, including challenging environments such as urban areas, tunnels and critical infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed system proposals, pricing and full design documentation covering technical, implementation and operational aspects.
• Coordinate system build, commissioning and testing of in‑building cellular installations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in technical sales, design or delivery of enterprise network solutions.
• Proven ability to present technical proposals to both technical and executive audiences.
• Experience collaborating with account managers or partners to close sales opportunities.

Required skills

• 4G/5G cellular technologies and RF band knowledge.
• Familiarity with DAS, repeaters and small‑cell equipment.
• Proficiency with in‑building design tools such as iBwave, Ranplan, TEMS and NEMO.
• Understanding of RF protocols, security, traffic/capacity modelling and ICNIRP compliance.
• Solid foundation in wireless communications fundamentals for public and private networks.
