DevOps Engineer – CI/CD & QA Automation

About the role

We are partnering with a leading insurance client on a large‑scale transformation programme. The DevOps / QA Engineer will own the design, implementation and maintenance of resilient CI/CD infrastructure, automated testing and deployment reliability across critical enterprise platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Build, optimise and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Develop and maintain automated smoke, integration, performance and security tests within the deployment lifecycle.
• Design and implement automated rollback and failover procedures to minimise downtime.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify build failures and drive remediation.
• Support continuous improvement of deployment automation, testing standards and release quality.
• Prepare and deliver weekly system demonstrations covering infrastructure health, performance benchmarks and security metrics.
• Contribute to best‑practice documentation for DevOps, QA automation and release engineering.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD engineering and QA/testing environments.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, platform and quality teams.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive ownership mindset.
• Experience in enterprise or regulated environments is desirable.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Version control systems (Git).
• Automated testing frameworks for integration and infrastructure testing.
• Scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for reusable automation.
• Infrastructure as Code practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with cloud platforms and highly available production systems.
