DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are partnering with a leading insurance client on a large‑scale transformation programme and need a DevOps / QA Engineer to design, build and maintain resilient CI/CD infrastructure and automated testing across critical enterprise platforms. The role sits at the intersection of DevOps, platform engineering and quality assurance, offering strong technical ownership and the chance to act as a technical lead.

Key responsibilities

• Build, optimise, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Develop and maintain automated smoke, integration, performance and security tests within the deployment lifecycle.
• Design and implement automated rollback and fail‑over procedures to minimise downtime.
• Partner with engineering teams to identify build failures and drive remediation.
• Support continuous improvement of deployment automation, testing standards and release quality.
• Prepare and deliver weekly system demonstrations covering infrastructure health, performance benchmarks and security metrics.
• Contribute to best practices across DevOps, QA automation and release engineering.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD engineering and QA/testing environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Experience troubleshooting deployment failures and supporting remediation activities.
• Background in enterprise or regulated environments is desirable.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline design and management (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Version control workflows (Git).
• Automated testing frameworks for integration and infrastructure testing.
• Scripting for automation and verification (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
• Cloud infrastructure concepts and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Deployment automation and rollback/fail‑over mechanisms.
