DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join The Dock’s engineering team. You will help design, build and operate secure, scalable cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliable production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitLab CI.
• Develop and manage cloud‑native infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM).
• Deploy and operate containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE).
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing and health‑check frameworks.
• Create reproducible environments to support engineering quality.
• Embed security across the lifecycle (secrets management, vulnerability scanning, dependency management).
• Manage network access, VPNs and firewalls to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to technical decision‑making, communicating trade‑offs and risks.
• Drive continuous improvement of development practices and code quality.
• Leverage AI tools to automate workflows and improve documentation.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code.

• Comfortable contributing to planning, estimation and sprint delivery.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms: Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM.
• Containerisation and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE.
• CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, GitLab CI.
• Scripting: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Networking, distributed systems and secure API design.
• Monitoring, alerting and logging frameworks.
• Authentication, authorisation and vulnerability management (CVE handling).
