Director, Global Sourcing & Procurement – Contract Manufacturing

About the role

BioMarin is seeking a Director to lead Strategic Sourcing and Category Management for its external contract development and manufacturing network. This senior position will shape sourcing strategies, manage relationships with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), and drive cost‑efficiency across a complex pharmaceutical supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end strategic sourcing initiatives for external contract manufacturing, including CMO selection and API sourcing.
• Develop and execute category strategies that align with quality, operations, and regulatory requirements.
• Navigate complex regulatory landscapes and challenge CMO capabilities to ensure compliance and performance.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams from strategy inception through execution.
• Build, coach, and manage a high‑performing sourcing team, fostering best‑in‑class procurement practices.
• Deliver cost efficiencies and strengthen strategic partnerships within the external manufacturing network.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Deep understanding of contract manufacturing, regulatory environments, and supply chain integration.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
