Director of Criminal Justice International Cooperation Office

About the role

The Director will lead the newly established Criminal Justice International Cooperation Office (CJICO), a corporation sole designed to centralise digital regulation in the criminal justice sector and act as the single point of contact for cross‑border e‑Evidence cooperation.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit and prepare the organisation, including business process mapping and service provider registration.
• Collaborate with domestic judicial and law‑enforcement bodies, EU institutions, other Member States and senior representatives of major service providers.
• Strategically guide CJICO towards its statutory objectives and ensure a streamlined regulatory framework.
• Oversee four main divisions aligned with the e‑Evidence package and support functions such as Corporate Affairs and Legal.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working at a senior level in an EU and international context with diverse stakeholders.
• Legal expertise or strong capacity to understand complex regulatory and fundamental rights issues.
• Demonstrated strategic vision, leadership of multi‑disciplinary teams and ability to implement change in a fast‑moving legal environment.
• Clear understanding, or ability to quickly develop, of the regulatory ecosystem in Ireland and the EU.
