About the role
Mastercard is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead its Foundry R&D team focused on Quantum, AI and Machine Learning initiatives. Based in the European Tech‑hub in Leopardstown, Dublin, you will guide a highly agile group to create innovative payment solutions that scale globally.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a team of senior engineers, delivering software projects with agile and AI‑assisted processes.
- Define requirements for new applications and customizations while adhering to standards and best practices.
- Integrate Quantum computing and AI/ML technologies into software solutions.
- Research, design, and document scalable architectures for global deployment.
- Oversee project management, reporting, and execution of software initiatives.
- Represent the team at internal and external events, fostering partnerships with startups and industry leaders.
Required profile
- Proven experience supervising and coaching engineering teams.
- Strong track record of delivering complex software products.
- Passion for emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning and Quantum computing.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into actionable engineering plans.
