Distribution & Transport Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Distribution & Transport Manager to lead our nationwide logistics network. You will ensure that printed materials, point‑of‑sale displays and promotional products reach our retail and commercial clients on time, safely and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all transport and distribution activities, guaranteeing accurate and on‑schedule deliveries.
• Coordinate nationwide delivery schedules for printed materials, POS displays and promotional campaigns.
• Develop and optimise transport routes to maximise service levels and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Warehouse and Customer Service teams to align dispatch plans with client requirements.
• Manage relationships with third‑party transport providers and logistics partners.
• Monitor KPIs, analyse trends and drive continuous improvement across distribution operations.
• Ensure compliance with transport regulations, health and safety standards and internal procedures.
• Oversee dispatch activities, confirming correct preparation, loading and delivery of goods.
• Control transport budgets and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Investigate and resolve delivery issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Lead, motivate and develop the transport team, fostering a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Distribution, Transport or Logistics Manager role.
• Background in manufacturing, print, retail, FMCG or similarly fast‑paced distribution environments.
• Strong understanding of transport planning, route optimisation and logistics operations.
• Experience managing third‑party logistics providers.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Effective communication skills across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Knowledge of transport legislation, health and safety requirements and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Transport Management System (TMS) proficiency.
• ERP system experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
