About the role
The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to join the team at Wexford General Hospital. This is a whole‑time, specified‑purpose post delivering acute emergency care to the community.
Key responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based emergency medical care to patients of all ages.
- Lead and supervise junior doctors, nurses and allied health professionals within the emergency department.
- Participate in on‑call rotas, trauma response and multidisciplinary emergency pathways.
- Contribute to departmental audit, research and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, safety standards and HSE policies.
Required profile
- Medical degree recognised in Ireland.
- Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
- Demonstrated Irish clinical experience in emergency medicine.
- Proficiency in English verified by IELTS or OET.
Required skills
- Emergency Medicine clinical expertise.
