Employment Counsel – Ireland & Europe

About the role

Intel is seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to provide expert legal advice on employment and labour matters across Ireland and Europe. Based at Intel's Leixlip campus, you will work closely with senior leadership, HR, and cross‑functional partners to ensure compliance and support business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary employment law advisor for Intel Ireland, covering working time, leave, equality, disciplinary, dismissal, redundancy and union engagement.
• Provide cross‑border employment law support for multi‑country employee relations, restructurings, works council engagement and policy harmonisation.
• Oversee complex employee‑relations investigations, including harassment, discrimination, whistleblowing, disciplinary actions and grievance handling.
• Lead workforce restructuring initiatives, managing individual and collective redundancies, site reorganisations and TUPE‑type transfers.
• Manage employment‑related disputes, instruct external counsel and drive favourable outcomes in labour courts and tribunals.
• Identify legal trends and risks, ensuring policy compliance and proactive risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer admitted to the Irish Bar or an equivalent EU jurisdiction.
• Significant experience in employment and labour law, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Proven ability to advise senior management and collaborate with HR and employee‑relations teams.
• Strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Irish employment legislation and EU labour directives.
• Experience with collective consultation, works council engagement and cross‑border employment issues.
• Expertise in handling investigations, disciplinary processes and redundancy programmes.
• Ability to manage external counsel and oversee litigation strategy.
