Engineering Manager - Food

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering function at a leading food manufacturing plant in Dublin. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership to ensure high asset reliability, effective maintenance and continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of managers to ensure high performance and alignment across the plant.
• Maintain strong employee relations and partner with labour representatives for smooth operational changes.
• Ensure high asset reliability to maximise uptime and reduce interruptions.
• Lead the site’s maintenance program and optimise repairs and operations.
• Develop and maintain a multi‑year engineering plan and annual operating plan.
• Implement preventative maintenance principles, monitoring solutions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform any other duties required to ensure a well‑run site.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar role in food manufacturing/FMCG.
• Strong experience leading management teams in a unionised environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of maintenance, asset reliability and related engineering practices.
• Trade qualification or relevant technical degree.
• Ability to work strategically and drive continuous improvement.
