Engineering Project Manager – Life Sciences Equipment

About the role

Our client, a fast‑growing engineering and manufacturing firm, is looking for an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead complex, engineered‑to‑order projects for the pharmaceutical and life‑sciences sectors. You will own the delivery from handover through to final client acceptance, acting as the main point of contact for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously, from initiation to closure.
• Define scope, create detailed schedules, risk registers and issue logs.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams – engineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality – to meet milestones.
• Control project budgets, forecasts and resources, ensuring performance against targets.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities.
• Handle change requests through structured change‑control processes.
• Maintain compliance with regulated documentation and quality requirements.
• Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in engineering, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life‑sciences or other regulated industries.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong client‑facing communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Experience with formal project‑management frameworks and governance.
• Engineering qualification or equivalent technical background.
• Project‑management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, APM) is desirable.
