Enterprise Solutions Architect – Banking & Payments

About the role

We are partnering with a leading financial services firm on a major Faster Payments transformation in the UK. The role is a hands‑on Enterprise Solutions Architect responsible for designing and delivering a real‑time payments platform that includes a Semantic Payments Hub, a payments engine, and integration with banking, compliance, fraud and finance systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end solution architecture for the Faster Payments programme.
• Design payment orchestration, message transformation and ISO 20022 messaging within a Semantic Hub.
• Architect compliance, fraud detection and funds‑verification controls across the payment journey.
• Define event‑driven, micro‑services integration patterns using Kafka or equivalent.
• Lead architecture governance and design‑authority reviews with engineering, risk and regulatory stakeholders.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with at least 5 years on large‑scale payments transformation projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK Faster Payments, ISO 20022 and real‑time payments ecosystems.
• Experience delivering payment hubs/engines and integrating them with core banking platforms.
• Proven ability to work in a regulated financial services environment (e.g., FCA, PCI DSS).
