Environmental Officer

About the role

Dawn Farms is seeking an Environmental Officer to join its Environmental Department at the state‑of‑the‑art production site in Naas, Co. Kildare. The role supports the Environmental Team in delivering the company’s sustainability agenda and ensures compliance with all relevant environmental legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Environmental Management System (EMS) and support the environmental KPI programme.
• Collect, interpret and present environmental data for internal reporting.
• Act as the secondary regulatory contact with the EPA and ensure compliance with the Industrial Emissions Licence, ISO 14001 and other legislation.
• Participate in root‑cause investigations of environmental incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Manage or contribute to site projects, ensuring environmental aspects are evaluated.
• Liaise with third‑party contractors for compliance monitoring, waste management and laboratory testing.
• Provide guidance on waste management, conduct off‑site audits of waste facilities and support PRTR/AER reporting.
• Plan, organise and deliver environmental training for site staff.
• Carry out noise monitoring, odour assessments and handle environmental complaints.

Required profile

• Support the Environmental Team in day‑to‑day activities.
• Assist in driving the company’s environmental agenda.

Required skills

• Experience with Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 compliance.
• Familiarity with EPA regulatory processes and Industrial Emissions Licence requirements.
• Waste management coordination and reporting.
• Noise and odour monitoring techniques.
• Data collection, analysis and presentation.
