About the role

University of Galway invites applications for an Established Professor of Chemistry (1 FTE, permanent) within the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences, College of Science and Engineering. The appointment is funded through the Senior Academic Leadership Initiative (SALI) to accelerate gender balance at senior academic levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑impact research programme in chemistry.
• Design, deliver and enhance undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
• Secure competitive research funding and manage research grants.
• Supervise PhD and post‑doctoral researchers.
• Contribute to strategic planning and governance of the School.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across the Sustainable World and Health and Discovery themes.
• Support gender‑equality and diversity initiatives within the university.
