About the role

The University of Galway invites applications for the Executive Dean of the College of Science & Engineering. Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for the College of Science & Engineering, aligning with the university’s strategic research pillars.
• Oversee the academic and administrative performance of five schools and three cross‑college research institutes.
• Drive international collaboration, research commercialization, and innovation activities.
• Represent the college to external partners, funding bodies, and regional stakeholders.
• Ensure high‑quality teaching, student experience, and staff development.

Required profile

• Established professor with a distinguished record of research, teaching, and academic leadership.
• Proven ability to secure research funding and manage large, multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in international collaboration and engagement with industry partners.
• Strong commitment to the public good and regional development.

Required skills
