Field Service Engineer – CMP Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

Join EBARA Precision Machinery Europe as a cleanroom‑based Field Service Engineer focused on advanced planar semiconductor equipment. You will work directly on Chemical Mechanical Planarisation (CMP) systems, providing hands‑on support to customers in high‑volume manufacturing environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installations, upgrades, repairs and preventive maintenance of CMP capital equipment on the fab floor.
• Analyse, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and PLC issues in a cleanroom setting.
• Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams to resolve complex system problems.
• Manage and control spare‑parts inventory for assigned equipment bases.
• Report system performance and activity updates to customers and local management on a weekly basis.
• Work a shift pattern that includes days and night shifts.

Required profile

• Higher Certificate/Apprenticeship (NFQ level 6) with at least 3 years HVM experience, or Bachelor’s degree (NFQ level 7) with at least 1 year experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and software (PLC) systems.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment and on rotating shifts.

Required skills

• Experience with CMP semiconductor equipment.
• Hardware and software troubleshooting, including PLC programming.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, electrical schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Spare‑parts inventory management.
• Effective reporting to customers and internal teams.
