Financial Accountant

About the role

As a Financial Accountant at Cencora in Cork, you will support the company’s financial operations and reporting processes. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will ensure smooth execution of core finance activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment, including matching invoices to purchase orders and coding to the general ledger.
• Liaise with Shared Services teams in India and Puerto Rico to resolve invoice queries and maintain supplier records.
• Coordinate the generation of sales invoices, resolve AR queries, apply cash receipts and support credit control.
• Prepare bank reconciliations, trace fund flows, support cash‑flow forecasting and manage funding requests and cash‑pooling activities.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts, post journals, complete balance‑sheet reconciliations and maintain month‑end checklists.
• Produce bi‑monthly VAT returns, the annual Return of Trading Details and assist with annual budgets and OPEX forecasts.
• Carry out financial analysis to support performance decisions and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Support audit, compliance and process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance or accounting covering AP, AR, treasury, reporting and control.
• Ability to work with international shared‑services teams and resolve invoice‑related discrepancies.
• Strong analytical skills for financial analysis, budgeting and cash‑flow forecasting.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting audit/compliance activities.
• Detail‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of financial processes.
