Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a leading communications consultancy. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting while supporting the company’s commercial strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end process, from timetable planning to preparation of internal monthly management accounts.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and variance reporting.
• Review actual performance against budget each month and advise on corrective actions.
• Identify and implement efficiency improvements and cost‑reduction initiatives across the business.
• Lead the finance team, providing support and direction.
• Provide key finance support to Managing Directors, helping to shape and deliver the financial strategy.
• Conduct commercial analysis using management information reports to meet financial targets.
• Ensure client accounts are managed within agreed budgets and recommend optimisation opportunities.
• Leverage technology and financial systems to streamline processes while maintaining robust controls.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CPA).
• Proven experience in financial management or control.
• Strong analytical ability with knowledge of general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, accounting standards and compliance regulations.
• Excellent commercial acumen.

• Competitive salary €90,000‑€100,000 per year (DOE) plus bonus.
