Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will join a leading communications consultancy to lead day‑to‑day accounting operations and deliver accurate financial reporting. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role is highly commercial and works closely with senior management to shape the organisation's strategic direction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end process, from timetable planning to preparation of internal management accounts.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and variance reporting.
• Review actual performance against budget, advise on corrective actions and drive cost‑efficiency initiatives.
• Lead the finance team, providing guidance and support.
• Provide finance support to Managing Directors, helping to define and execute the financial strategy.
• Conduct commercial analysis using management information to meet financial targets.
• Ensure client accounts stay within agreed budgets and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Leverage technology and financial systems to streamline processes while maintaining robust controls.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects as required.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA).
• Proven experience in financial management/control.
• Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and compliance regulations.
