Financial Controller

About the role

An international manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Finance Professional to lead its finance function across multiple sites. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure robust financial control, accurate reporting, and provide commercial support to drive business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly management accounts process, group reporting and financial analysis.
• Manage cash flow, treasury and working capital.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Drive inventory control, product costing, margin analysis and operational finance improvements.
• Manage the year‑end audit process and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
• Develop finance systems, improve processes and lead a high‑performing finance team.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) – audit background preferred.
• Strong experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
• Proven experience in management reporting, financial controls, budgeting, cash flow and costing.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, inventory accounting and multi‑site operations is advantageous.
• Commercially minded with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive leader who enjoys improving processes and developing teams.
