Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join the senior management team of a prestigious 4‑star resort in County Meath. The role is commercial‑focused, responsible for driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision‑making within a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day finance function and oversee all financial operations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and present financial reports to senior management.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Analyse financial performance, identify profitability opportunities and support commercial decisions.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure statutory compliance.
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns, audits and year‑end reporting.
• Monitor costs, revenue performance and working capital.
• Supervise finance systems, drive process improvements and lead the finance team.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA).
• Minimum five years post‑qualified experience in a senior finance position.
• Previous hospitality experience, preferably within a hotel or resort.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent financial reporting skills.
• Proven experience managing budgets, forecasting and cash‑flow.

Required skills

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA qualification.
• Proficiency with financial software and systems.
• Strong financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
