Full Stack Engineer - Innovation Team

About the role

Join the Innovation Team at Matomo to build privacy‑first analytics capabilities. You will own the full lifecycle of new features, from rapid prototyping to integration into Matomo’s core platform, working remotely from anywhere in Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and deliver new backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) features that extend Matomo’s analytics platform.
• Explore and validate innovative product ideas, including AI‑powered insights, using a small autonomous team.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery, balancing speed and quality while avoiding over‑engineering.
• Write automated tests, review code, and produce clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate directly with co‑founders and senior engineers via Slack, Jira, and Confluence, sharing prototypes and learnings across the company.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience developing backend applications with PHP.
