Full Stack Engineer – Innovation Team (Remote, Ireland)

About the role

Join the Innovation Team at Matomo to build privacy‑first analytics features. You will own the full lifecycle of new ideas, from rapid prototyping to production‑ready integration within Matomo’s core platform, working remotely from anywhere in Ireland.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype and deliver new backend (PHP) and frontend (JavaScript) features that extend Matomo’s analytics capabilities.
• Explore additional technologies such as Python and Node.js when required.
• Rapidly validate product concepts, including AI‑powered insights and visualisation tools.
• Identify innovation opportunities across analytics, integrations and user experience.
• Own ideas end‑to‑end, balancing speed with quality while avoiding over‑engineering.
• Work autonomously in a small team, proactively removing blockers and escalating when needed.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional experience developing backend services with PHP.
• Proven ability to deliver full‑stack features using JavaScript.
• Comfortable working in a remote, self‑managed environment.
