Full-Time PSV Technician

About the role

JJ Kavanagh is looking for full-time PSV technicians to join its maintenance team at the Waterford depot. The technician carries out diagnostics, repairs, maintenance and servicing for all vehicles, ensuring compliance with legislative and company standards. The position is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe working environment
• Carry out routine inspections, maintenance and repairs on all types of PSVs
• Carry out diagnostics on all vehicles
• Communicate with the team of engineers and drivers and support colleagues
• Maintain and present vehicles for MOT / CVRT
• Abide by all Health and Safety procedures
• Complete inspection and defect rectification paperwork
• Liaise with the parts department for parts needed for jobs
• Handle unscheduled maintenance issues on and off site

Required profile

• Formal, industry-recognised qualification and proven technical competence
• Experience as a PSV/HGV technician of 2 years preferred
• Full driving licence; a commercial licence is an advantage, though driver training is offered to successful applicants
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, flexibility, drive and enthusiasm
