Despatch Operative

About the role

Dawn Meats, one of Europe's leading beef and lamb processors with locations across Ireland, the UK, France and continental Europe, is looking for a Despatch Operative in Charleville, Co. Cork. The successful candidate manages customer orders, ensures goods are unloaded and loaded to the correct locations, picks and packs orders using forklift equipment and scans inbound and outbound consignments to ensure audit and traceability.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the overall production and dispatch of customers' orders.
• Use forklift equipment to pick and pack orders and goods.
• Work in a chilled and ambient environment.
• Keep the work area clean and tidy and maintain high health and safety standards.
• Achieve the targets and job standards set by the Shift Manager and perform reasonable requests from them.
• Deal with regular repetitive light, medium and heavy lifting.

Required profile

• Fluent English with good numeracy and literacy.
• Physically fit, as the job involves lifting; must cover the evening shift.
• Own transport, as shift patterns may vary.
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, and to work as part of a team.

Required skills

• Forklift skills.
• Scanning equipment to scan consignments.
• Good attention to detail.
