Full‑time Over‑the‑Counter Assistant – Ballinlough

About the role

O’Sullivans Pharmacy is looking for a friendly and reliable Counter Assistant to join our Ballinlough branch. This full‑time position involves supporting the front‑of‑shop team with over‑the‑counter medicine and cosmetic sales while delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain smooth operation of the front of the shop, including OTC medicine and cosmetic sales and stock orders.
• Assist customers with product queries, concerns, and purchases.
• Ensure the shop is tidy, well‑stocked, and compliant with health‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Customer‑focused with strong service orientation.
• Comfortable working in a busy retail environment and handling pressure.
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail.
• Approachable, friendly, professional demeanor with good interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn about OTC medicines (preferred but not essential).

Required skills

What we offer

• Permanent, full‑time contract (5 days/week, 9 am‑6 pm).
• One Saturday shift every three weeks; no Sundays, bank holidays or late nights.
