General Foreman – Residential Construction

About the role

The General Foreman will lead on‑site activities for a new residential development in Middelton, County Cork. Reporting to the Site/Project Manager, the role ensures the project is delivered on schedule, to quality standards and in full compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily on‑site operations, coordinating labour, materials and equipment.
• Direct and manage site personnel, subcontractors and multi‑disciplinary contractor teams.
• Conduct regular quality checks to verify work meets specifications.
• Enforce health and safety policies and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Plan and optimise resource allocation to control costs and improve efficiency.
• Liaise with project managers and clients to communicate progress and resolve issues.

Required profile

• Proven site supervision experience with a trades background.
• Demonstrated experience delivering residential projects from start to finish.
• Knowledge of external façade and brickwork processes (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Familiarity with current building regulations and certification standards.
• Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for project outcomes.
