General Operator – Afternoon Shift

About the role

We are looking for a General Operator to join our afternoon shift team, supporting daily production targets in a fast‑moving FMCG environment.

Key responsibilities

• Meet daily production targets for output, waste, yield, efficiency and start‑up time while working as part of a team.
• Accurately record production data (downtime, waste, process sheets, non‑conformances) at required intervals.
• Carry out all quality tests and traceability procedures in line with company protocols.
• Control and maintain production tools, probes and machine parts, reporting any misplaced items.
• Ensure food safety requirements are met and maintain a tidy, safe and hygienic work area.
• Operate equipment according to training and approved SOPs, following all hygiene and safety procedures.
• Suggest improvements and new initiatives to enhance processes.
• Produce and pack products to company and customer specifications, adhering to a “get it right first time” approach.
• Report maintenance issues to the line manager and communicate with staff to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
• Adapt flexibly to breakdowns or changes to meet order deadlines.

Required profile

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent understanding of food safety (HACCP) and health & safety processes.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Minimum six months experience in an FMCG environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and show flexibility.
• Proactive mindset with a solid grasp of business objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Eligibility to work in Ireland.
