Global Indirect Tax Lead

About the role

The Global Indirect Tax Lead will own indirect tax compliance and strategy across the EMEA region and support the Americas and APAC markets for a listed multinational company. This senior position works closely with finance, legal, supply chain and commercial teams to ensure accurate VAT reporting and drive tax transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve VAT returns and oversee global filings to ensure timely, accurate compliance.
• Provide expert VAT advice to cross‑functional stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Coordinate tax audits and respond to inquiries from international tax authorities.
• Maintain and enhance VAT determination processes in Oracle (E‑Business Tax) and Avalara, leading automation and AI projects.
• Support strategic initiatives such as e‑invoicing implementation, migration to Oracle Cloud, and risk assessments for digital services models.
• Mentor and develop VAT team members, particularly within the Cork hub.

Required profile

• 10+ years of dedicated indirect tax/VAT experience, with strong expertise in European VAT.
• Proven track record managing compliance, audits and cross‑border tax issues for a multinational corporation.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, organized approach.
• Desirable knowledge of Swiss VAT, e‑commerce/digital services tax and Spanish language.

Required skills

• Oracle (E‑Business Tax) or similar ERP tax module.
• Avalara tax engine.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel for large data sets.
• Familiarity with OneStream, Alteryx or SQL is a plus.
