Group Financial Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will join a fast‑growing organisation in Cork, reporting directly to senior leadership. This senior finance position offers high visibility and the chance to shape the group’s financial function during a period of rapid expansion and acquisitions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the group reporting function, consolidating financial results across multiple entities.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, driving efficiency and quality.
• Oversee preparation of statutory financial statements and coordinate the external audit.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to senior stakeholders to support decision‑making.
• Lead integration activities for recent and future acquisitions.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, governance and compliance frameworks.
• Develop group‑wide policies, processes and systems to support scaling.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives such as M&A, business transformation and performance improvement.
• Lead, develop and mentor a high‑performing finance team within a flat organisational structure.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical foundation.
• Significant experience in a group finance or financial controller role within a multi‑entity environment.
• Proven track record in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented business, preferably with M&A exposure.
• Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
• Confident communicator comfortable influencing senior stakeholders.
• Hands‑on, adaptable and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
