Hardware Test Engineer – Product Operations

About the role

Apple is looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join the Product Operations team. In this role you will ensure the performance, reliability and quality of Apple’s hardware through rigorous validation and testing, collaborating with design, software, manufacturing and quality teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies for hardware and software systems.
• Create and maintain test fixtures, instrumentation setups and validation methodologies.
• Analyse test data, identify failure modes and lead root‑cause investigations.
• Work closely with design and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve product quality.
• Review product roadmap requirements and develop appropriate test plans for new products.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best testing practices.
• Lead product bring‑up, prototyping and NPI phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in hardware validation, test engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
• Hands‑on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and power supplies.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Python, C/C++) for test automation.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis, failure analysis and debugging of hardware/software issues.
